Our Story

As our friends and family, many of you know that God has begun to stir our hearts and give us the desire to adopt. Though we have two wonderful children already, we can’t help but be moved by the huge need for "forever families" for so many kids around the world. Throughout Scripture we are clearly called to look after the lowely—orphans and widows specifically. Because we have been blessed, we, in turn, want to be a blessing to one or more children needing a place to call home.

To be honest, we still don’t know exactly what this journey is going to look like for us. We’ve already had discussions with organizations for both domestic and international adoption, but we have felt a particular call currently to foster care (foster to adopt). Under foster care, our first priority is reunification with the birth family if at all possible, but if that isn't able to be worked out, we would have the opportunity to adopt the child(ren) under our care. We don’t have a preference for boy or girl. We’re also flexible on age, though we’d prefer to adopt younger than our current children. If we ultimately go the international adoption route, we’ve looked most closely at Uganda and Ethiopia. Will you join us in praying for clear direction?

As God continues to guide our journey, we’ll update this page with more specifics. But what we do know for sure is that the adoption process is very expensive. Adoption expenses are between $15,000-40,000 depending on the country of adoption and which program we go through. With a desire to plan ahead and be good stewards of resources, we’ve started this page as a summary of our fundraising efforts. We’ve begun to make changes to our family and lifestyle to jumpstart the saving process (e.g. goodbye cable, goodby sporty car!). But we’ve also made plans for various fundraising activities as well. Please see the sections below for more details.
